It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the new and, I believe, more beautiful webpage. I also hope it will be easy for you to use and find your way around. I am very aware that I now have millions of readers world-wide and I hope this webpage will be a successful way for you all to stay in touch with me, and with the new books as they are published. You will also be able to find information on other books, the historical backgrounds and research, and my other writing including book reviews and travel journalism. I am also delighted to introduce other historians who are publishing their research on the Tudors here. Some of you will be already familiar with the readers’ group where you can discuss my books, and other novels and histories that you enjoy, and coming soon is the chance for you to eavesdrop on a private discussion between me and my friend Gina Luria Walker, Associate Professor for Women's Studies at The New School and Guest Faculty at Sarah Lawrence College, as we read and comment together. Our first book will be The Golden Bowl, by Henry James, and you can read alongside us and post your comments too. Last but not least you will see the section on my charity, Gardens for The Gambia which is going from strength to strength thanks to your support and donations. If you order books from Amazon or B&N through this site they make a payment which I donate to Gardens for The Gambia, so thank you for that! Thank you for visiting and please come back again – there is always new material coming on this page! |
